Very interesting the way its colors melt into the surrounding colors. I imagine it's difficult focusing on this kind of close-up but the cricket looks a little soft. Colors, exposure, and composition are done well.

well what ever it is, its GREEN. good job to bad the lighting is a little harsh on the left side and taking away from the details. great focus and color.

A good shot my friend, and I don't know what it is either. Great macro focus, and combined with the lighting looks like an insect from outer space. Fantastic detail and texture in the shot.

The strong light is wonderful. Excellent close-up bringing out all the textures and detail. Like the way the image is framed, emphasizing the long legs and the reason for its speed. Great capture and thanks for sharing.

Nice one and a good reward to our friend. Hope he will like it too. Nice colors and lighting. Good sharpness, due to a good focus. Nice texture on the body and on the leaf. However, full legs it would have been better. Just a personal opinion. Not so large the head and body, but one can not have everything...

Love this Supergold, he's an awesome specimen and you've captured him with expertise. I don't think he's a cricket as they are black, maybe a cousin but whatever he is you've created a fabulous and interesting picture. Just great!

Fred,
A brilliant macro shot of the Cricket or Grasshopper as it creeps over the green leaf its jaws open ready to start chewing on anything it fancies. Caught in a sunbeam that lights it from the left. Taken with superb camera techniques with sharp focus.

Yuk. I never used to mind grasshoppers or crickets but when you see them up this close, you realise just how horrible they look. Like something from another planet! Great shot though. I can never get this close. They see me coming and disappear!
