it's been a while since I've seen one of your post here on fanartreview. your pointillism work is still very interesting with strong character in your subjects. your colors in this nice work of art really has a nice appeal. the young horse is pleasant and has nice soft features that really works nicely in your presentation. thanks for sharing

again, it's an amazing technique that gives the whole work a very interesting texture...not quite impressionistic...don't mind looking at it but i'd sure hate to have to draw it LOL

    wendyG,

The challenge was the creating the many colors, also getting the angle & depth and perspective to look natural.
I liked the results created by the color pallet I used.

Wonderfully done pointillism piece. Lots of detail and depth that captures the meaning of your title perfectly. Super composition too. Excellent.

    shoregrass,

He was only a few day old I am told, large g head spindly legs, very appealing to me.

Comment from FBI GUY

From bison to horses, both great animals of the western United States that serviced the American Indians. The colors and the shading is very realistic. The shading gives true depth to the art and I can feel the little one looking at me with his big brown eye. This scene depicts true love of the animal to his mother. Very nicely down,

Brilliant ! I love what you have created. I like that with the impressionist school that the art itself is in the gaps, allowing the mind to expand beyond the obvious ... Absolutely beautiful .. wish I had a six to offer here!

    websterjames,

thank you for the cyber 6!
Yes, I like the technique, and the results in created in this drawing.
The challenge was the fore-shorting and the cross over look of the legs on this was a little bit of a challenge, in getting the composition the way I wanted. I like the colors and the earth tone with the blues, the combination add depth and perspective to me.
    But I liked the results.

This reminds me of an Eric Carle illustration, as in Brown Bear Brown Bear and please know that is intended as the highest of praise.

Yes, I remember reviewing this in black and white?
Is the head of this horse really that elongated or just for aesthetic purposes?
The compact cropping tightly framed the anatomical structure that needs to be focused and speckle with dots until the desired volume is perceived.
The colorful dots create the proper roundness, symmetry, bulk, crevices, lights and shades of the subject.
Unique cropping.
Diffused lighting.
Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the technique. I'd love to venture on this genre but my landscaping job occupied so much of my time...
    Happy weekend! Cheers!

Beautiful and sensitively created work. Excellent composition and muted color 'Pallet' together with the time consuming pointillist technique combine to make this a compelling piece of work.

A very nice image requiring lots of patience and an eye to detail. Must be like working on a tapestry but with pens instead of needles. I like the contrast in colours and the way you have captured the eye. Thanks for sharing
