wonderful illustration of such an adorable looking cat...the eyes are stunning and the nose is cute like a button...the face blends into the body a little bit though...love the ears pointing upward...stellar composition...well done and thanks for sharing...

Suzanne, my caliber of work is not diamond seal worthy...but I might use it as another form of feedback so that constructive criticism can be put to good use...no??? what are your thoughts on using this medium for getting better??? I am no artist, just enjoying painting to decompress from the stresses of nonstop surgery 6 days a week...

I like using the soft pastels - it's fun to get really mucky when you blend in with your fingers, which I do! You can of course use the compressed paper blenders too but I find fingers are best. I'm not so keen on doing landscapes with pastels, I find they're best for portraits of people or animals. If you haven't tried them give them a go. It also doesn't take very long to complete a pastel painting. Suzanne

Nice art..Like the fur and the eyes..Could have done more better by avoiding some roughness here and there particularly the red color near the leg..

What a beautiful kitten. We once had a Himalayan which look quite similar to Ragdolls.
Love the fluffy brushstrokes and the playfulness you depicted in this painting.
