I doubt it! These birds have fantastic insulation. There is a wildlife sanctuary up the road from my home which is home to thousands of swans in the wintertime. Most of the time you will find them on the water and not on the banks! Very attractive image with ice in the background. Water does look cold though. Reflection is very good and so is your focus. Good Luck in the contest at voting time.

Thank you so very much for the lovely review Susan. I bet you don't have minus 20 Celsius very often though. LOL Some times these birds have to be hacked out from the ice by firemen.

Ha, Ha, no not very often. Got to about -12 last year and that was bad enough!

Love the framing and that reflection is wonderful! I like the little detail of the water droplet on it's beak.
The edits made are all very effective in producing a great picture.
Is it usual for them to be around so late in the year?

I see the frozen lake. I like the composition and clarity of image, you were still able to capture that reflection, of the icy formations, and the duck. Well framed. Great entry.
