Very pleasing and whimsical portrait of this horse. His single eye exudes a lot of personality! The colors work well and framing the horse between the front and back fencing is a strong element here.

Excellent shading on the horse. She has expression in her face and eyes. The use of pointillism is always a difficult process. She were able to use it effectively in bringing this subject together.

Beautiful chestnut horse with a white blaze, he's waiting for his carrot! This is another amazing work in the pointillism technique , I can see the time and thought that went into this work! You even managed to give the wood the natural weathered look and texture! Well presented!

Lucien,
A beautiful picture of the horse his/her head turned to look straight at the artist who created the image. For me you have created a living & breathing animal in three dimensions. I like your choice of colours & their blending & application..

Just a quick thank you for having taken the time to look and then comment on my artwork, your support of my artwork is greatly appreciated.
Maybe more then you want to know, but I want to give a little more information on the piece.
Again, thank you for having opened and taken the time to looked at this piece of artwork & giving me your impressions of it. A piece of this size (7 x 10 inches) depending on complexity can take anywhere from 12 to 20 hours to complete, this one took approximately 25 hours.
It is a technique that I simply cannot get enough of the way it gets me to looking and understanding colors, how they play off of one another, it is fun, challenging and amazing what the results can bring. That great 3D effect in the way the pure colors compliment and some time contrast to get that feeling of perspective and depth. And how all the dots works on creating form and structure without using any lines I find fascinating.
A little self promoting: the drawing is available as a signed and numbered limited edition print. Have great day, Cheers!! Lucien

Lucien,
Thank you too, for remarking on my picure if the Pale Blue Irises NOT the vivid blue of Van Gogh's. They were growing in a garden around the corner from here. I took several photos which I used to get the colours right.
Susan.

Comment from Marilyn J. Brown
This is enormously clever, Lucien. Not only have you achieved a perfectly-blended colour mix, but also a high degree of realism. The work in the foreground rail is exquisite as we can see the knots and the grain.
