A perfect entry to contest. Amazing play of light and shadows. Love the great textures and the lilting, like the silhouette of the horse at galloped and the layer of the rider waving at wind. Good luck.

The TV series is only loosely based on the original. But outdoor shots for the series and the 1999 movie were taken at the still existing village of Sleeping Hollow, the Dutch church and old burial ground.

You did a wonderful job on this painting. This is creative, unique, and your technique is very good. I am just curious. Did you get this idea from the tv show Sleepy Hollow? I love that show, so i was just wondering. Well done! Keep up the great work.

Thank you very much for your kind review. I did not got the Idea from the TV series, but from the original story. The Legend of Sleeping Hollow by Washington Irving first published in 1820 and the still in reality existing Village of Sleepy Hollow in the town of Pleasant, Westchester Country, New York, USA, which houses the historical Landmarks of the Old Dutch Church and Burial Ground of Sleeping Hollow. Some of the outdoor shots of the TV series were done there.

Nice use of light and shadow. The sense of motion is great. This piece embodies the subject to me. Great energy.
