I admire your drawing. I think it is quite lovely indeed. However, I would have never guessed it to be Marilyn. I had no idea who she be but she being Marilyn was a pleasant surprise. I love hats. When I was growing up in Deutschland, I was a "hat" model for some of the few big department stores in the area. I had what they called "a hat face". Ever since then, I have always admired hats. I still have a few. Having the opportunity to wear them are far and few in between. Sometimes I just wear them just because....and when I do, I get compliments. Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories in my life. I compliment you in your "Hat: drawing. It is not only beautiful but the hues seem to be soft and delicate and ever so gentle. Her eyes and lips and well done and show a lot of personality. Thanks for sharing. Overall good job. I am glad you "had" to draw this picture. Sometimes having to do something turns out better than having done it on your own.

Thank you for your thoughtful review, and comments. I appreciate your looking into this project, and reflecting your own experiences with hats. That was fun.

What a fantastic drawing. I don't think it is anything needed to make this better than it already is. I so wish I could draw like this. Really beautiful and well done.

Beautifully done. Aesthetically pleasing and you have made it your own. Her face is subtly shaded capturing the eye to study her expression then moves to the rest of the canvas. To me you have captured a regal Marilyn but I get sense a sadness there as well. Carol

This is outstanding! Your artistic gifts shine through here showing all just how ahhhmazing your work is.
Lady Linda, your technique of getting such realism is impressive.
Her eyes and beauty draw us in. You created a shy softness that becomes more and more emotive with each glance.
You draw from your soul and put everything into your work.
You have walked in the darkest valley and still continue to look up and believe and trust His word.
Your hands were kissed by God and you use your gift wisely.
Well done!

Wow, wish I had more than a five. She was so lovely. You did an outstanding job, and you definitely found the soft, lovely, sweet side of her. So elegant, the details are amazing. I so look at your work and think I am looking at a photograph because of the details, the light in her eyes, everything is perfect. Thank you for sharing.

You did a really beautiful job, and I love the hat :). Your attention to detail is excellent, and the entire composition is wonderful. I can only hope that I am as good with portraits as you are some day. You just make them look so real.

I love the light over the face illuminating the sweet expression of absent look. Really you captured here the soft side and the fragility of the Marilyn. Well done

Linda - you never cease to amaze me, one work is greater than the other! What an outstanding depiction of feminine glamour and beauty, portraying what seems to be a Lady attending the Kentucky Derby in Churchill Downs, or perhaps a vintage fashion portrayal in a high end magazine. Be it as it may, this lady is a true apparition, an Angel indeed! Amazing mastery of strokes, handling of textures and light. THANK YOU for sharing this!
Best regards
Pancho

Such a beautiful work of Art! Well. I like the innocent and soft interpretation of your subject. Extremely feminine that only a true artist can capture. I like her eyes and the lips and the hat, elegance in motion! Great work!

Absolutely stunning use of light on Marilyn's face. It makes her seem so feminine and peaceful.

The hat going off the right edge of the scene is exceedingly creative and effective.

The capture of the eyes is beautiful and makes the image what it is.

One item, I find myself going to the feature below her left earring. Can I assume it is a lock of hair that is curled? I do not see any evidence of hair that long on the right side, so it makes me wonder.

Great job, I always marvel at your skill.

Allan, thank you. Fantastic review. That is a lock of hair. I assume the rest of her hair is pinned back.
