I love the fog. The thicker the better. I love your point of view in this photo. You got right down there on your knees. At least that is what I imagine. Strong depth of field. I like the way the trees reach across the tracks and meet each other. All technical elements are excellent. Good luck in the contest. I think you have a winner here.

Thank you very much:)

I like this photograph a lot the way you have levelled your self with the
rail tracks and all the autumn leaves laying on the tracks with the fog
down the track almost looks as though it a sepia tone photograph and of course the fog certainly gives it a very eerie look ....good luck in the contest
and thanks for sharing

The mood captured in this shot is amazing! Eerie, a bit scary and very dramatic! Amazing how fog changes our everyday world into something surreal. I like the way you have used the tracks to a vanishing point in the fog, that is great composition. Nice atmospheric shot, and it lends itself to telling a good story, I am sure writers on our sister site will snap this one up!

Thank you. I was lucky to get this and have it turn out so well. I was literally flying by the seat of my pants :)

Lovely shot, great perspective with the railroad track rolling into the distance on this foggy morning. Nice frame with the trees on each side forming a cupola above the tracks.
Great focus and lighting showcases clearly the tracks and trees up front, and the increasing fog towards the background, beautiful grey and brown colors . Well done, good luck

That looks like scene from a horror movie, so cool! The composition is awesome, I love the low camera position and the point of view - it very efficiently forces the eye to focus on that rail and follow it into the fog. A little off-set works fine; at first glance I was wondering why didn't you take the photo from the middle of the track so that the arch of foggy light would be right in the central position, but then I realized it would have lost that powerful element of the leading rail. I love the game of clarity here; we're starting off with a bit of soft-ish focus right in the foreground, continue with very sharp focus in the middle, then wander off towards the trees in the background where clarity gradually decreases until we're swallowed by the thick fog. Contrasts are very good, the darks and shadows add an element of mystery and danger which is also nicely corroborated by the deep, de-saturated(?) colors. Very cool, thanks for sharing! :)

I love how this has an almost spooky effect with the fog in the trees. It reminds me of one of those movies where you're unaware of something lurking just out of site. Nicely centered. Very interesting photo.

Phenomenal perspective offered in this piece. Your angle makes the shot and creates such a strong leading line for us to be delivered into the piece. The image creates thoughts of uncertainty; not knowing where I'm going but trustful that it will be ok. Your exposure is effective and allows maintenance in both the light and dark elements of the image. Nice work. Kathy

on a misty, moisty morning, when.. love the feel of the picture- though for us east europeans, such pictures immediately bring Siberia and gulags to mind. Two of my fathers were sent to gulags, one died there, one escaped- strong picture-

Thank you Renate. Yes, I suppose for some this is not a picture that evokes pleasant thoughts
Comment from Alveria
Great shot with excellent clarity, lighting and color. Good DOF. Looks a bit surreal with the fog and I like how the tree branches form an arch over the tracks that disappear into the fog. Great POV, nicely framed with visual impact. Very well done and good luck in the contest. ~Alveria
