I too am happy with the outcome, really speaks. My mum got dementia in her old age and I can only guess how hard it is along with Alzheimers. She forgot which country she was in and would say: Renate, the market is here in downtown Poszon, we have to go.. No mum, we are in England, unfortunately. /At times I growled under my breath, your choice instead of an immigration country lie USA/.. we honestly thought we would all go home back then. Communism took a long time to collapse, much longer than anyone thought. I love this one.

typo= lie USA should be like USA - I dont think there is anyway of correcting reviews once sent.

No problem. This word program always auto changes what we type. You can click on feedback in your menu and hunt for your review, then click on edit and then make corrections but I do not bother for minor errors even though it bugs the English teacher in me to have misspelled words in my reviews. You also have to remember what rating you gave as it has to be re entered so when I am doing many I do not bother. I just use spell check before I save and hope for the best.

I sometimes wonder where all the things that clutter up my mind come from. A very nice image. I like the blue lady who seems to be pondering that very question. Best wishes in the contest.

Linda this is very impressive piece of art. The title and your notes explain everything. It's sad that the gears of the brain slowly stop working as they should. I like your presentation, colors and tones. Every detail means something. I think you deserve 6* rating for this painting!!!

Hello Linda Wow I love the effort here to do a painting with an underlying theme addressing an issue. I think this is when an artist is really put to the test and where as an artist at times we need to make decisions for the whole of the work. I can see you convey the losing of the memory with all the things coming apart and separating on the right hand side of her head and I love how the head and hand seem to melt and come together. I get the sense of sadness . As I look at it I would have attempted to have the shades of blue done as washes in different shades and maybe have added a nice big tear ! overall though it is a nice effort and it is nice to see you are challenging yourself! That is how we grow !

It deserves a 6 when I get one. This is stunning. Loud, vivid, colorful, great details and subject is wonderful to study. Fractured is painful to view for some reason. Love her beautiful face, now that is well done. I am puzzled about the pieces so can you help me on that? Super blue body!!! Love the attitude. More of these, more please!

The falling pieces are fractured memories or distorted memories as a result of dementia. The colorful and matted looking hair symbolizes the forgetfulness regarding personal hygiene. My brother will go months without bathing if we allowed it and did not have th e nurse make him shower. He has to be bathed as he does not remember how. So sad to watch.

Oh my! My husband has to be told, directed and guided to shower. He has fits if sheets are changed by me! he covers them now and sleeps on top of a quilt. Smarty pants! Yes, I see now. Thanks for explaining. Your good at depicting the truth in this area. More please! Elderly brochures can use your pictures. Ya think? They are kind enough pics.

Without reading your notes first I got the impression of someones mind in fragmented pieces. The various fragments remind me of patches from a beautiful quilt, needed assembled. After reading your notes I can see how this is is appropriate for your story, even the colors chosen for what they could represent. Just my thoughts.
Beautiful work of art Linda,
best wishes in the competition.

Superb notes, Linda, and a superb abstract representation. The disease struck my Mom and all her siblings. This really speaks perfectly in a visual way about not only its progression, but the emotions of those stricken. It touched me deeply, my friend. Masterful. I hope you win the contest. Ed.

Very and blue is my favorite color too. The facial expression is great. The details is great. The blend of colors is great. The depth is great. The creation is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Creative and great job overall
