I have tried a couple times to shoot auroras but was never really far enough north. I like the colors and the way the stars shine through the northern lights.

Pat,
That is magical not only the Northern lights but also twinkling stars sparkling in the night sky too. The dark mountains with snow on some of the high slopes reflecting the shimmering northern lights that are also reflecting onto the rives while adding any air of mystery yo the river bank on the right where it's not in darkness but rather in dusk. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus. I've only seen them through the widow of a plane flying over Winnipeg from LA to London I was mesmerized

Ohhow cool Pat. I have only seen one Aurora and that was when i was a kid growing up in Idaho. It happen only one time in the eight years I lived there.I like the look and feel of this one as it is using ambient light which s giving an almost surealistic appearance. The muted colors give a nice soft ambient sense of experiencing this scene. Well done Pat ~ Steve
