A very nice low key image. The sheen on his feathers and the catchlight in his eye are very nice and the colors are great. I like the tight cropping, but might like to see a vertical presentation.

The Low Light Level really 'works' in this fine looking Avian Portrait photograph that you've presented us with,my friend!
'Die Schwalbe' ( as the Germans call these birds ) that you've photographed has an interestingly 'Serious' and possibly a bit 'Mysterious' look to it that I'm enjoying a lot!

the bird flies in and lands on top of a chair. with a twinkle in its eye he speaks in a deep man's voice.. "okay human im here for my Glamour shots! now this i feel is my best side! can you make me look dark and mysterious? come on human! chop! chop! close your mouth and grab your camera! chop! chop! ".. lol.. cool capture. the clarity is gread. the capture of the light is good. the angle of the shot of this birds facial is great. the image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall

This barn swallow is beautiful, I like the way I can see his colors , face and beak coming forward from the darkness.
Well focused, the image is sharp and clear, lighting is good allowing the colors and tones to show true.

You are going to get many telling you it's too dark, but they need to look up Low key Photography. So they can eat their lens caps and continue to shoot in auto.
