Nice little bird shot Pat good dof used in this and being black you got good detail and sharpness in the bird,like the twig in this as it adds just a bit of extra interest...Brian

Pat,
A brilliant picture of this cheeky Starling perched on the leafless branch the sunlight catching the iridescence in it's plumage, the glint in it's eye & the shine on it's sharp beak. The snow in the background making a beautiful contrasting backdrop. Beautiful composition framing and lightning taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

I love that patterning on his /her tail. that bird looks as though it is un-freezing. Lovely alert look on his face, watching you- you know what it is, your dogs, they probably bound out after you and with you and frighten them away. Love this photo, simple yet givdes a wonderful close veiew of those feathers reacting in the snow!

there are 123 starling species and this one is particularly beautiful; it looks lie a juvenile;
excellent sharp focus and control of exposure for the black;

    Thank you very much Fred! It does look like a juvenile, but it?s March and too early for it to be that young.

Here's another 'Good Show' of a picture that you've taken,Pat!
These creatures remind me of small Corvideans but they don't seem as clever or as confident as Crows and Ravens do!
Oh Well! : )
It's an enjoyable image,my friend!

Great picture! He really stands out against the background and his body and feather details look really sharp. The scene is well balanced and the lighting is just right.
Well done!
