A fantastic image.

I love its composition, its sharpness and the light. A marvel. Excellent portrait. The clean background, the blue sky helped a lot. Excellent detail in the eye... You pushed well your lens

Pat,
A beautiful profile portrait of this juvenile Bald Eagle down clinging to it's hooked beak after preening, it's eyes fixed on something below, the grey sky making a beautiful background. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

A good looking nature image posted here! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable portrait view of that youngster. Like the eye and beak. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Nicely done!

Wow, you are right he/she is thinking about a striking moment maybe he lost his partner as I saw this kind of faces when a dog caught one of the birds and all others were sitting around in this way - this is a special moment captured from such a special angle and position with such sharpness that we really can see all sections in his face
a sad moment but a great picture as this is one for the future to teach people about the feelings of birds and animals - congratulations

Such a profound expression captured here! I am not sure if that is a smile or a grimace but it does have a great anthropomorphic feel. (There's your word for the week) Also, the details are amazing including the downy fluff that looks kind of like a beard.

Wow! Great shot Pat!! An amazing capture of this eagle's expression. So up close and personal. He is nicely placed within the frame, the back is nicely blurred with no distractions. Thanks for sharing

Yes a good capture of the eagle and astute of its mood, also being able to photograph that mood so very well. The soft bluish background with the touch of green/teals showing on the one side is also nice.
