i really like the detail of your bee. they move so fast that you must have had a very fast time. i myself have spent hours capturing a bee and it's not so easy. love the pink flower make s the bee pop

Hi Freelo59.. 1/2500 sec. faster is conditions permit. Ideal for me is 1/4000 sec. You're right it ain't easy. I finally settled on focusing on just one blossom and waiting for one to show up.

Bob, this is a great shot of whichever bumblebee it is - one doesn't need to know a name to see its beauty!
Beautifully focused showing every tiny detail in the bee, the wings are incredibly clear and the hairs all over make him look so fluffy - almost cuddly!
Exposure is is spot on, producing excellent natural colours.
And I like the composition, the tight crop and the gorgeous red of the flower as it creates the background. Nice one!

Hi Brian.. You are the first reviewer who understood the difficulty with this shot. This particular color in strong morning light drove the sensor nuts. It took some time to find a white balance shift that didn't look like an early garish HDR horror.
