Glena, you have done a wonderful job with these two watercolor bells. I think that watercolors are a very difficult medium but you certainly showed that you are up to the task.
The detail, delicacy, and rendering in both are great.
The shadow of the left bell is very nice. I especially like that one is upright and the other on its side.
You have lots of watercolor talent, hope that you continue to use it.

Thank you for your review, artist friend Easton. I really appreciate your kind observances; however, I am just getting back to watercolor and hope I am able physically do a few paintings/drawings at least. You have inspired and encouraged me to do just that.

Glenda, my hope for you is that you are able to do more paintings/drawings, you have so much talent!

Thank you, artist friend, for reviewing and your kindness. You helped inspire me to continue water color when I can, as able. I really appreciate that.

Glena, You did such a beautiful job with this that I thought the smaller image was a painting till I opened it up! You have some really nice detail in this! The bell on the right looks like a crystal bell. Love the way you positioned them and the shadows. I think this is a different look for the still life we usually see. Very Nicely Done My Friend! Good Luck in the Contest! :o) Nancy

Thank you my artist friend Nancy for the very insightful and kind review as well as the best wishes. And, thanks so much for the high rating of a "6". I'm trying to get back to watercolor more as it and oil were my main mediums when I took several semesters of art.

This is a lovely entry for this contest, the two bells are so different and I like that you placed one standing and one on its side. I think you did a very good job in creating the two bells, they are well shaped with good show of their structure. Nice work to show how the silver one shines, nice wooden handle. The blue glass bell is so pretty and would make such a lovely Christmas decoration. Nice neutral background and shadow work.
Well arranged and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

Funny still life is not one of my favourite subjects to photograph, that saying this is a pleasant watercolor my only concern is the right bell seems to be not so clear as the left one i think had you done both lying down at an angle to one another might have been better, one other thing i have noticed is that wooden handle contrasts well with that bell...Brian

Thank you for reviewing my work. I just drew and painted the two bells (The blue bell is an avon perfume bell that is an antique.) to get back to doing watercolor.

I am not a fan of watercolors but that's a personal taste so I won't take away from the image. Detail is wonderful, especially in the shadows. The colors blend well together. Other than the gold bell looking slightly distorted in scale around the opening, (could also just be my old eyes lol or the angle the photo as taken) I won't hold that against my score. :)

Thank you for your review. I just did the two to get back to doing watercolor as some of my best work has been in water color, years back. I don't know how it was loaded this way. Really the background was more white and the bells better in reality, the gold bell more silver. I understand how you feel with not being a fan of watercolor, I am not a fan of digital work because it can be corrected more easily than hands on painting, especially with watercolor which can't be corrected very well at all. But I, like you, am open-minded to all fine art, and therefore appreciate the talent
of those doing digital art also.

An interesting take on still life. It is always nice to see alternate approaches. The gentle colour really speaks here. You have painted the essentials of the subject. Good luck!

Thank you, artist friend. I just did the two in practice to get back to doing watercolor as some of my best work has been in water color, years back. I don't know how it loaded this way. Really the background was more white and the bells better in reality, the gold bell more silver. I always appreciate your reviews as well as your work too. I originally intended these to be two bells painted in watercolor, not really a still life. Also, thanks for your best wishes.

A very nice watercolour of these two bells Glena - it makes a nice change from the standard still life, which never really appeals to me.
You've managed to capture the glass look for the blue one, and the metal look of the other one, very well.
Very good luck in the contest.

    You're very welcome.
Funnily enough I have no problems taking portraits or landscapes etc, but when trying to photograph one of my drawings, my photos are always really lousy and need a shedload of editing! I think it's really hard to reproduce traditional art in photo and I think you've done a very fine job!

You are really kind. Thanks. Friend, I needed that.

A good looking entry into the competition posted here with somewhat confusing notes too! Your and appropriate composition offers us enjoyable views of that pair of lovely bells. Well painted and good luck!

Thank you so much for your review. I just had a difficult time getting on the site, things kept crashing, etc.

I would say that watercolor loves you and you need to try it again! Your bells are finely detailed and well executed. My goodness. You have a wide array of styles, like myself, tying everything at least once.
This is an excellent image!

Thank you, special artist friend, for reviewing and encouraging. Your comments and you are so cute. Yes, I am trying watercolor again. That and traditional oil is all I used when I took several semesters of art at VA TECH years back. I thought I had to leave the site sometime in June to go back to my son?s and my novel(s) as I could, but realized I need to continue a while to finish some things while I work on our novels if I can. I probably won?t be able to enter many contests.
