What an unusual looking butterfly (or indeed moth!) I have not seen one like that here in the UK. You captured lots of good detail including the little red spots and that very pretty aqua colour splashed across the wings.

This is beautiful photo of this butterfly. I have yet to see this kind. I love the colourful spots on the back. I see there is an ant on the left of the butterfly lol,, I love nature photos

Now this is sharp [so full marks Jack for that] okay its a straight forward shot of this butterfly[but they hard to get sometimes]and not always possible to get better angles,but clarity is spot on so well done for that...Brian

I think it might be an Appalachian tiger swallowtail butterfly ~ Papilio appalachiensis,
a species of swallowtail butterfly found in eastern North America, particularly in the Appalachian Mountains. It is a hybrid of another two Papilio species, Papilio canadensis and Papilio glaucus, with which it shares many characteristics. Wikipedia
A beautiful picture of your Swallowtail butterfly sucking nectar from the Clover Flowers it's alighting upon. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
