Although it appears to be a simple scene the story behind it makes a dramatic impact on what went on in this godforsaken place...
The dreams and hopes for millions was shattered for ever
by the humiliations and indignities they suffered and the very starkness of your shot conveys a little of this...

How austere is this? Just knowing what happened there is spooky. But the light coming in the window does indicate maybe there was hope for some of them. Some were survivors. Interesting use of lighting. Thanks for sharing.

I like this image a lot. It has a wonderful soulful feeling to it. I can only imagine what people went through squished in here like sardines in a can and I think you have given us a wonderful vision here. I am not a big fan of the framing you have done, I feel the image would have been much stronger without the heavy tones around it. Great image and a wonderful set, thank you for sharing.

This stark photo and the story records a very dark time in history of the world. The light coming in the window makes the picture and illuminates the conditions. Your story accents the photo. Without the story, the meaning of the photo would be lost. Thanks for sharing.
