That lens you have used is very very good. This image is sharp and its well composed and placed nicely in the frame. Excellent impact due to the lighting on his wing an d neck. Nice one!

A very lovely capture. I am amazed that you were able to get close enough to take a photo like this. I have tried on many occasions to get a close photo of them with a 300mm lens but I have been unsuccessful so far. The detail in the bird is nice. The DOF is also nice but could be even better if the POV were changed a bit. The composition is sweet.
My only suggestion for potential improvement is in the colors/tones of the water. It just seems the white balance is too cool and should be warmed up a bit.
