I really like this one, Willie. You have captured so many interesting elements here...stop action take-off, water splash and of course the fish in the bill and beautiful green background...very well done!

Excellent majestic capture of the Great Blue Heron. You froze a split of a second wing flap and splash of water droplets into eternity.I love the way you used the burn tool to highlight the water reflection to add drama to the contrast of light and shade. Awesome, lovely composition.

Another great capture Willie, You must spent all your time with a camera snapping. Great colours and framing. Worth more than a five.

It looks like this heron is fixed to a propeller. The motion reminds me of what we see in the cartoon "Road Runner". LOL I think all the splashing of water and the ripples left behind is adding interest to this shot. And of course also that the bird is carrying fish.
This time the focus could probably have been a bit sharper, but considering the motion of the bird it is more than sharp enough. I really like how the bird is lifting its wings. The exposure is however fine and the colors are truly lovely.
Again the placement of the bird works well. It is nice that the Heron has space to move into. Again a really well taken photo of your favorite bird: the Great Blue Heron.

Thank you so very much! I was shooting 1000/sec. I learned from this one. Next time I will shoot at 1500/sec or 2000/sec. When all this is going on it is a very fast scene! Thanks again!

This is an amazing picture the way you took it. You were sure in the right place at the right time for this. How lucky you are to live so close to where the beautiful birds can be found. I like the way you see the fish in his mouth and the way he is about to take off. The action in the water coming off of him is great. Just a stunning and beautiful picture.
