Yes, the lovely Autumnal colours are well captured in the background here Willie along with the wonderfully clear detail of the bird. Good composition and cropping too.

Nice capture Willie and the reflection is almost a mirror image if it weren't for the bit of ripple in the water. Nice natural colors with sharp focus on the Great Blue. The b.g. just compliments the whole scene so nicely, the colors are splendid making the heron just pop! Excellent choice for the contest!

I wish I could give more stars but I am limited to a maximum of five. Lately I have seen a lot of bird photos but this takes the cake. The resolution of the bird is very fine and the reflection is one of the nicest I've seen. I love the recursive nature of the reflection completely the circular motif. Colors in the water and the background work well with the bird and his reflection. Great subject; great photo.

Excellent photo of this big blue watching intently for a fish to get close. The reflections are very nice and this should be a good contender for the contest. a beautiful photo and you captured it so very well with nice camera techs.

The coppery tree reflections are great as a backdrop for the soft blue/grey of the heron's plumage. This is a nice, clear shot, well composed with the reflection balancing the actual bird. It's one of those exceptional cases where it works to have a horizontal element cutting the image exactly in half!

Oh, and I only just noticed that the curved back and head of the heron and its reflection form arcs that are part of a near-perfect circle. Odd that that would jump out at me from a thumbnail, but beautiful!
