You did a perfect job as she is just jumping out of the picture alive- very good work in all details as well as the background composition unified with her jacket - that gives the portrait more flash and makes it special

This is indeed an excellent portrait, not only for its skillful use of medium, but also, and more importantly, for its conveyance of exceptionally poignant characterization. Very well done and thank you for sharing.--Dr. Carlton

My friend, while I do like this portrait very much and think that you have done the subject justice, I fail to see why this entry is legitimate for the "painted green" contest. There is no green in the painting and there are no notes which explain the connection between the work and the contest. Cyn

This is incredible work. The color of skin tones is so alive and the hair is so well painted. I love your technique. Very well done, love the dark background.

This portrait is photographic in look but not necessarily recognizable as photography. The use of color, line and overall painterly quality, not typically found in photography makes this image especially interesting. The natural look of the lady draw the viewer back to her eyes.Excellent work in oil.!
My question is what is she doing in the "Painted green' contest??!! Good luck.

To capture a personality in a painting must be an amazing feeling! Not only have you captured personality, your lighting is superb. I like the crow's feet around her eyes, and I like her direct gaze. Donkeyoatey

Other than a little confusion over why this is in "Painted Green contest" when not even the blouse is green I find the work very good. The lighting you have achieved and glow highlighting the womans features is very natural. Some notes in regard to who the woman is would have been a nice addition for we overseas viewers.

I enjoy the dramatic darks in the painting and how the blue of the colar clues us into the shirt without defining it past that. Your artist notes speak about larger than life portraiture, so I'm guessing this is that scale but it doesn't mention the specific size in the artist notes. What is the size of this painting? You also speak of specific painting techniques but do not specify. I enjoy the work but am left a bit confused on how the painting relates directly to the commentary. There is a bit of blue in the white of the eye, that is reading as accidental although it could be purposeful. I'm not sure how this fits into the painted green contest, but I wish you the best of luck in it. Overall nicely done.

I really like this and what you have done. I liked reading the write up, but to know abit about this person would have been good to. As for the image, love how you did the eyes, the shine on her skin and head tilt is very good. Also having part shadowed like you done, is similar goings to a Rembrandt style. Well done, this is very good and was a pleasure to view and comment on.
