I really like the colors used in this , they are all working together creating a visually eye appealing image. the one thing that bothers me is the lack of definition on the left ear, it seems to be in need of a little more refinement and color. Other then that I think its very well executed using the media and technique.

Thank you very much for your kind review and input. I don't know if you noted, but the whole left side leaks definition, most visible on the ear because it is white. The right side is somewhat more defined, The mist defined area is the face. It is the only area which shows detail. It is painted in a stile, which is best to explain with the bokeh technique in a photo. The original defined piece were smothered and colors were blend. This was done to get the feel of mimicry, to archive a illusion as if the animal is melting into the background.

Yes! I see that, but then wouldn't the nose as area the eyes have more defined, so that the bokeh effect is more true to the definition? I like the idea and the colors and that fade out, but to me it needs a little more detail.

Yes you are right, it would. It would even be better to have the whiskers in clear definition as well. I haven't found out the how to do yet. I am still experimenting with that technique. Digital paints react different even if they are used in a traditional way, and here they are not. I use [digital]watercolors and oils together. It seems as if nobody else has done that so far. I cannot use the layer technique on this because the media won't mix then. Thank you again. Your reviews and replies are always helpful and inspiring.

HAndsome work with different kind of techniques on one item - I never heard to mix oil paint and water color - amazing idea and outstanding soft effect - with the water color you certainly got this smoothly and calm effect into your image - handsome to look at, very special in all details, the eyes are very remarkable and his mouth is perfectly done - his face expression is kind like concerned about "human actions"? Asking himself how long he still will have a space to walk freely under the sky?, perfect background color and application perfectly merging with the cat showing that this kind of cat really is part of a fee wild life and only can be happy there - very nice image, all the best for the contest

Thank you very much! You are absolute right.t is impossible to mix oil and watercolors in traditional art, but one of the great advantages of digital art is, the you basically can mix any of the medias with another, truth it is not usually done.

I really like how you have made just the face the focal point by blurring the rest of the art work. You did a great job making the eye look so life like and expressive.

this Cleo is just exceptional , i absolutly love it , love what youve done with the background the way the image fades into it and almost by allowing that, the eyes and the look they are giving , become even more the focal point of the whole picture ,the eyes in themselves are stunning , . yes oh yes
