All out of stars LVO, but this is deserving of far more than the site allows anyway. This is beautiful and I know how long and hard it takes to create such a piece. It is emotive and oh so loverly.
Well done!

    Sanga,

thank you for the cyber 6 and more you are willing to give the drawing.

Yes, I like the technique, and the results in created in this drawing.
The challenge was the fore-shorting and the cross over look of the legs on this was a little bit of a challenge, in getting the composition the way I wanted. I like the colors and the earth tone with the blues, the combination add depth and perspective to me.
    But I liked the results.

Thank you for your time in looking and writing your critique of my drawing it is very much appreciated on all counts.
    Have great weekend,
    Cheers!!

Awesome Lucien!!! This is amazing the way you have captured the look of the foal. The colors are just beautiful. All the different tones of browns and the way you blended them all together is stunning. This is even better than the photograph. You are so very, very gifted. This is an exceptional and wonderful work of art. Thank you for doing it from my photograph. Anne

Perfect name too. They are so shy but really very curious too. I don't think he was very old at this point but still curios at who we were. Mother is right there to protect him and he is ready to take off with her if we get too close. It is amazing to me at how big their heads are. I guess they just grow into them. They are beautiful horse and this is a fantastic place. If you ever get the chance to go there you really should.

A very cute painting. The way the colors blend together to make the subject is amazing. Another excellent piece of art.

Comment from Life is but a dream.

A visually commanding image that shows good application of tonal qualities with the pointillism technique to bring in shadows on the calf moose. That long snout is realistically true in life as baby moose do have this long look about them.

Emotive aspect is the connection of the calf's eye to the viewer and the warm earth tones within the coats' of mother and calf bring a warmth to an image which enhances the emotional aspect.

Shadow light play well applied as light source has been made evident by your pointillism application and is correctly distributed adding to a good flow of the two animals.

Some visual distortion and lack of coherent perspective noted on chest of calf in striations of chest wall and due to that patterning giving an unrealistic feel. Viewer's eyes keep gravitating to the ribbed effect and that aspect of your art steals and robs the image of strength. There is also apparent a wide distortion in the space between the calf's front legs almost making him look handicapped.

That huge white blank of nothingness below the animals blinds us....there is visual lack of balance.

It is an awkward piece Lucien but I do recognize the tremendous potential of this art.

    Life is but a dream,

isn't it funny in a photo I am sure the crossing of the legs would not even have been mentioned. (but it was the pose I worked from.)
I really missed the mark by your review, a moose calf? (it's a foal.)

did debate the white, but like the focus on the colt, it gave the image, and in the piece it works. Yes, I like the technique, and the results in created in this drawing.

Extraordinary work with such masterful skill and style using the pointillist technique. Works very well, and is a most visually appealing image. A pleasure to view this excellent work.

The detail you instill in your artwork is absolutely beautiful. Sharp features and great control over your color and shading. Very nicely done as always.

Lovely drawing & Pointillism also! Well done. So much patience you must have. Great tones & you use of light is great. Lovely choice of picture to recreate - very well executed. Wish I had a higher rating for you on work put into this alone! Thank you for sharing.

Simply brilliant! Doing pointillism is very challenging and it requires lots of tolerance, good understanding of the subject and one's own will power and perseverance! You are generously endowed with these qualities. You enviably talented in this genre !Thanks for sharing!
