I have seen this plant in the butterfly house at the Zoo and never asked about it. Excellent colors and very fine cropping with a beautiful background. Good luck in the contest.

I'm not at all familiar with this plant, but I'm tickled I'm getting to see it in such a masterly presentation. What you've done is gorgeous. I really don't know how a person could ask for more. The flowers, leaves, and stems are of wonderful focus and clarity, then we see the perfectly soft image behind, going into a wonderfully created background. I will definitely be looking for you in the contest. God bless, Lynnieellie

What a nice photo. Never saw a plant/flower like this before. I like the effect you did with the background and the background color. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing

What a unique plant. The darkened background is good. It sets off your subject nicely. The green leaves are a nice accent to the yellow in the plant. The reflection is done well. Nice job.

This is indeed beautiful. I know you did it even though it does not have your name LOL. What I want to know is how do you get those reflections in the back. I don't want to copy your work by any means, but I do love this effect and wish you could tell me what you are using to get it. I think it would be beautiful on B & W portraits.

First of all, thank you so very much for the 6 stars, and here is the answer to your question:

It has to be done in layers in Photoshop.

    1. Cut out flower
    2. Create a new background by adding a new layer
    3. Duplicate the flower layer
    4. Click on "filters"
    5. Click on "blur" and go to "radial blur"
    6. Click on zoom and set to 100
    7. The result is a zoom effect in an own layer. You now have 3 layers, The background, the zoom effect and the original flower. The zoom layer can be moved around, made smaller or larger and also be adjusted when it comes to light and color.

Hope I managed to explain this in a clear way.
