I would like you to have my six rate this week for all your work. It reflects great skill and I love the way it always connected with your family in some way. His body language is a bit negative here. My son freezes as soon as I point a camera at him. Shoul have taken artistic licence and chilled him out a bit.

Thank you so much for your brilliant rating. I wanted to do a painting with my youngest son in it and this was one of the few photographs I had as he doesn't like having it taken, as you can see! I also like painting the sea so combined the two. Many thanks again.

Another fine painting. You captured the atmospheric effect of the beach scene well. Good rendering of waves and rock formations. Sky also wonderfully done. Facial features are well done and body proportioned well. Colors used compliment each other well. Well done.

Can see your style now. Another very soft and lovely painting. To me, almost like watercolor but not. Does that make sense....still very much a beginner here. lol Great job with the details of your son. I'm sure he's really proud of it! lol The rocks are great! Even see the moss growing on them. Can see how you put sand up on the trail. Love the water color and how you did the reflections! The beach is great and do get that broken shells and little pebbles to it. Enjoyed your painting! Annie

Many thanks, Annie, for taking the time to view and for your encouraging comments. (My son hasn't seen it yet as he's in England and I'm in NZ at the moment!)

this is a lovely image you have created and painted here. The use of the oils has worked well for you. Nice and relaxing type of atmosphere for this. Great job.

This is cool looking. Love the subtle colors here and the glassy look to this. Great job on the overlays and the highlights and shadows as well. Fantastic job.

hi there, this is a neat looking piece, the omposition and the detailing looks good, but there is a bit og white/noise in the paint in places!
Thanks!

Thanks for your comments. Not sure what you mean by white/noise.

Hello fellow New Zealander! Great photo transformed into the oil painted you have doen onto canvas. I love the way you have painted this, not being so bold or overpowerful in colour. It's soft, looks a little hazy but it's still effective. Like the way the waves are splashing in the foreground corner. Your son, I wonder if he did go for a swim that day!? he he. Loved the way in my opinion, the eye travels from son to line of sand which then flows to the mountains beyond. Well done. I can imagine the photo was really a beauty too!

Many thanks for your comments. Actually I'm English but live part of the year with my daughter who is married to a Kiwi! My son didn't swim - it's not one of his things unfortunately, more into guitar playing!

beautifully rendered Suzanne. he looks quite relaxed even though facing away from the camera. Your technique is great and the texture of the sand and the rocks in this is so very well done as is the sea.. Congrats, it's a lovely and successful painting and a delight to see. Thanks for sharing.

This art work captures your son's dislike of having his photo taken. You have captured the essence of a teenager in this work. The water has been captured so life-like. You are very good at painting water, I enjoy your art works.

Very nice area. The water looks very clear and full of life. The path leading to the top of the rocks look inviting as a great lookout point. Your Son looks like he is enjoying the time at the beach and maybe thinking about the time he has spent here or dreams of tomorrow. Very awesome those Rocks and very majestic and seem to reach high into the sky.
