I agree with your observation about the detail however, the idea that this dog is waiting to have some fun comes through quite well. Your work on the waves is really nice and I love the way you created the sloping dunes.You mentioned the rough life this pooch used to have and you seem to have created a rough sea and overcast sky, could there be some symbolism there?

Very nice painting. Love the texturing of the foreground sand. Very well done. All areas of the painting go well together. Lighting is well done. Nice rendering of the ocean area and sky. Addition of the dog creates interest. Good composition and presentation.

this is a great painting yet again!! the grass backs create a frame to the pic drawing your eyey to the dog and the rippley waves.

Though small, as you said, it's a good painting, sort of mixed between impressionism and realism- dabbing of colors at the bottom and flowing brush strokes at the top. I like the color combination- soft and pastel- quite pleasing to the eyes.
