The sea indeed is looking calm, but the angle here is very different and it kinda taking away the attention from the sea to the fence there... The sky part is a bit too much, cropping it a bit might be helping. Good luck on the next shot.

Nice composition on this shot, but the light is a bit off.

I?ve been on this site for only a couple of days and here is what I would like to share.

I am an amateur photographer who learned by having some people hammer rigorous messages to me:

1. It is all about the story: if a picture is worth 1,000 words then what is the story that you want to tell with the photo.
2. It is all about the light! Get the right natural or supplemental light. Without thinking light you have a snapshot not a photo.
3. Fill the frame! Don?t have a tiny subject. Fill the frame.
4. 95% of the work of any decent photograph is done before you pick up the camera. What is the effect you want? What is the aperture, the depth of field, the framing and the composition? You must decide this before pointing the camera.
5. Use the rule of thirds.
6. For landscapes: have a background, middle ground and foreground. Most amateurs only have one or two. A great landscape needs all three. Shoot with good light! It is all about the light!
7. For wildlife, do not chase them. Learn about them and predict where they will go and get there first. Set up your photo, focus and wait for them to enter the frame. Chasing wildlife with your lens is useless.
8. For wildlife, try and shoot at eye level. Focus on the character and expression of the beast, or capture it doing something unusual.

These are 8 good basic starting rules.

so when applying these here I think the bench on the right is a bit distracting from the image. And the light leaves the chain and oles in shaddow washing out their detail.

I like the lines of the poles disappearing into the background.
Nice Photo.
The concept is good, as is the lighting and DOF.
Well done.

What a lovely vista and walkway.
I especially like the angle and way you have framed this.

The technical aspects are all great, no adjustments needed. Its great.
Enjoyed.
