Great story telling to go with this photograph. Really an excellent portrayal of the fierce cold and hardships. Great subject and focal for the shot.

Annie,
I like your photo Arbeit Macht frei! the only thing that I think would increase the ratings of this phot is being a little bit lighter. I do realize that it looks late and that it is snowing, too and we sometimes can not cotrol the lighting, but I think that their is a software that can fix! Also, possibley could use some more saturation and sharpnes which is very important....you are more than welcome to disagree. Just trying to help. Other than that it is a great soon to be winter photo!~)

I use to live in Krakow and in Poland for 10 years. Know this site well. Such places reveal the heart of man. Anyway as far as the picture goes just a bit more wide angle without losing your "theme" might have given this a stronger initial impact. Thanks for sharing

This photo gives me a cold chill, a visceral sense of desperation and horror.
Having had relatives who were killed and some who escaped, makes this photo that much more intense for me. i want to see it but I don't want to see it.
