This looks like some mythical kingdom! The water and rocks barely look real and I expect to see a leprechaun or fairy lurking behind some moss-covered rock. Really neat shot, fine clarity and composition with the water taking the focal point and drawing the eye upstream to the point of infinity.

This is beautiful. How do you get the water to look so soft and inviting. It looks almost mystical. Is it the slow camera speed that gets the water to have this effect? Love everything about this image.

Thank you so very much for a good review and high score! Yes the slow shutter speed is the key! you must use a trypod and late in the afternoon when the sun is going down. As long as you can see to focus you will get scenes like this. Sometime on a very overcast day will work to but not as well. To shoot the slow shutter speed in much light will cause it to be over exposed.

Thank you for the information. I am going to find a creek and see what I get. I can't wait to try it.

This is a beautiful shot of the smoky mountains. I went to the Smoky Mountain National Park last May. The park is loaded with creeks with mossy rocks. This is a good entry to the contest. The focus is sharp. I like the slow shutter speed to capture the water flow. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you so very much! It is a beautiful place! I live five hours from there so I can't go as often as I would like.

I am a real sucker for waterfalls and this one is just great with the huge moss covered boulders to the shutter speed that gives exactly the right amount of blur to the falling water.

Lovely. I like the use of the slow shutter/long exposure to turn the water silky and the moss provides a complementary texture. I was never that fond of monopods but you have made effective use of one here (what was your shutter speed?) The general line of the stream creates a strong diagonal.

Thank you so very much! I like the monopod, but it does not work well for this. I had taken so many shots with a lot of different settings, sorry don't know but I think it was about two seconds.

Very pretty composition on this image. Good color tones. Focus seems just a tad soft. Lighting is nice. Clarity is good.

Good colour mix, like the milky white against the green. The creek leads into the image, well composed, well lit and good impact. Thanx

I spent many long weekends in the Smokies, and you have captured one of the beautiful attributes in this impressive shot.
Interesting how this affect seems to replace the typical trickling sound with a soft whoosh - in my minds ear. Nice composition and color. Great presentation.
It has been fun viewing this photo and remembering the ice cold water!
