This is absolutely amazing. I have never seen a hummingbird nest and to actually see the bird in it if great. You are right you were in the right place at the right time. Great job. Wonderful focus, nice clear shot.

you should post them, I would think not to many people have seen something like that, cause they dont hold still very long.

Hey Wille, this is a wonderfully unique capture of wildlife. The nest is beautiful and your focus on the bird is wonderful. The flash takes away a bit, but sometimes you've got to do it to get the shot. Well done!

You know, I think I may have seen something very similar to this nest..In a trunk of a tree that was knocked down a week ago up here in Maine..Was very windy and the old tree couldn't take it. And I saw a weird looking nest..It looked like this..And I couldn't figure out WHAT kind of animal lived in this..NOW I know!
GREAT texture of nest..Clarity of the hummingbird's feathers is excellent. And the coloring of leaves and branches are well done.

You know, I think I may have seen something very similar to this nest..In a trunk of a tree that was knocked down a week ago up here in Maine..Was very windy and the old tree couldn't take it. And I saw a weird looking nest..It looked like this..And I couldn't figure out WHAT kind of animal lived in this..NOW I know!
