She does not look happy, and if was western tourist I can understand why she might not be happy. Colors are rich as the focus is also good. The exposure has it places that could stand some attention, for example the left side. All the best in the contest, John

A wonderful shot of local color. I can't comment on the mysteries of camera techniques, but I can comment on artistic merit and the impact of the photo on the average viewer :) This is wonderfully focused and gives me just a great look at that embroidered vest she's wearing and the fringed scarf and aged face. Also, the color is excellent. The placement in the frame is good and your capture of that expression is priceless, lol.

Yes, this old lady for sure has a disapproving look on her face. Could not be more expressive if she tried. So very apt for the contest. Good Luck in that. I love the worked collar around her neck. As a needlewoman myself this does appeal to me. Also the colours in that strange hat! Very well framed with good focus too.

not me, I hold the camera; American tourists, as usually very noisy!
