Gog! what good focus! Amazing since I imagine she wasn't just posing, waiting for your to take the picture8 Colors are lovely, framing is good.

Spectaculr macro, very good control of the colors and the eye is perfect!
Reminds me of a favorite piece of Poetry by John Leax
"His feather flame doused dull
by icy cold,
the cardinal hunched
into the rough, green feeder
but ate no seed.
Through binoculars I saw
festered and useless
his beak, broken
at the root.
Then two: one blazing, one gray,
rode the swirling weather
into my vision
and lighted at his side.
Unhurried, as if possessing
the patience of God,
they cracked sunflowers
and fed him
beak to wounded beak
choice meats.
Each morning and afternoon
the winter long,
that odd triumvirate,
that trinity of need,
returned and ate
their sacrament
of broken seed."

a beautiful shot with excellent framing and exposure. very sharp focus and excellent colors. if only she didn't have that seed husk dangling from her beak.

The colours are beautifully saturated and very natural and the angle is excellent, like eye level.
Great DOF and excellent sharpness and focus.
Nice camera work, well done, thanks for sharing! Good luck in the contest.

I have a strong feeling that I know who this photo belongs to, because this is such an excellent macro shot of a bird eating its way through a seed. The background is nicely softened for the bird to stand out in the most excellent way. I also like the neutral color of it.
Your focus is spot on and pin sharp showing clear and well defined details in every single feather, and especially the bright and shiny eye is well captured. The exposure is perfect and the colors nice and natural.
The tight cropping works well and the head of this bird is well placed within the frame. This is just through and through an excellent shot, and I wish you luck with the contest.

This is one excellent close up capture.
The details are just unbelievable.
It astounds me so much as to how you photographers can get such gorgeous close up images of your subjects. The human eye would never capture this no matter how good ya eyesight is.
PHENOMENAL photograph and I know you will do well in your entry for the contest :-)

What a great closeup showing perfect detail of the subject. Glorious red beak ,at the centre of things as he nibbles on his lunch. His plumage is beautiful and his beady eye not missing a thing. Great capture here, with excellent lighting to enhance the features of the bird .Best wishes for the contest!
