Excellent. I especially like the aged, rusty chain. Beautifully balanced. Terrific color. Vivid, Crisp portrayal. Very good work.

I was drawn to the compelling image with the great geometrical forms, rough rusty texture and well-placed lighting - all create the feeling and symbolism of one very deeply imprisoned in a medieval dungeon way, but in the context of a very complex life and society (the multiple layers, angles and the suggestion of a chess-board background are perfect metaphors for these constraints). Powerful and profound work.

This is a striking composition. The colors and shapes all blend together into a well-integrated whole. I have no suggestions for improvement. great job.

This has a magical feel to it. The colors and textures are wonderful. Give it an ancient feel which goes along with your notes--at least for me. Really like this one.

Your work always fascinates me. And now the title has me intrigued, along with your artist notes. I love the colors, especially the much-needed vibrant blue. A little hope for the enslaved, perhaps? But I also think the point of view, in this case, from behind chains, is really just a point of view. That is what this work has, the ability to make us think about values and pour points of view.

Shawn, I really like this piece. I can visualize this hanging in an executive office somewhere in corporate America. The composition is excellent. Very interesting theme. The warm colors are very suitable for this work. The beep blues make beautiful accents that add just enough variance that adds to the color interest. Only one thing I see...the left ring shadow is not right...it should be at the bottom perhaps just slightly counterclockwise to the others. Overall, cool girl!! Russ

Wow, where did you come from? What a surprise. I thought maybe you done quit :) Thank you so much, Russ, for the super review. I got it regarding the shadow, and it's probably going to bug the heck out of me 'til I go back and do it all over. I did the piece, complete with shadows, and then decided to use a rotating mirror on it, which put my shadows in the wrong position. I was afraid if I undid everything, I wouldn't get it like this again. :) I loved it too much not to save it as is. Maybe I can clone out the one that is out of whack. I am so glad to hear from you again. Thanks you ever so much, Russ. :)

Hey Shawn, I have been around. You must be having a pre-mature senior moment. HaHaHa!! I sent you a couple e-mails, posted a painting this week, been reviewing and trying to be the complete gentleman. The latter is the only non-truth!! LOL!! I am a stickler for shadows. A while back I had a painting all done and had all the many shadows leading TOWARDS the light. I had made a late decision to change the left to right orientation, forgot about the shadows. ARGGGG!! The fix was a real PITA!! Talk to you again soon, Russ

What a beautiful mixed media. Love the addition of the eyeball looking out from between the chains. Very good message conveyed. Wonderful colors and shapes. The compositon just comes together nicely. Rich color and great shapes. Enjoyed it very much.

Thank you, Julie!! Hawkeye! Between you and AngelHeart, I can't get away with anything...lol. I was wondering if anyone would notice the eyeball in the shadows. I just couldn't resist throwing it in there. :)) Again, thank you for the great review.
