Initial impact just a great shot. Lighting is very good.
Action ready to leave in a moments notice. Wren shot presentation. Color harmony is good. Center of interest is the bird. Cropping now there are people who would have you crop this much smaller. Wrong, this is well done. It emphasizes the small nature of the bird. It give him space to fly into. It shows some of where he is sitting. There are so many positives of your cropping. I tell people we are not packing sardines. Focus is just exquisitely sharp. Depth of field is working very well to blur out the stuff in the background and produced a much better one. Story telling is in the title and artist?s notes.
Great composition. For some of us that would be a once in a lift time shot.

I think that this photo is incredibly endearing as this little bird perches on the edge of the stump and holds your eye with it's gaze. Your focus is great and has captured the fine details of his plumage. As well the softened background works really well to give depth to the photo and allows the little guy to take center stage.
