Beautiful painting . The gold of the flower pot is looking stunningly real - the color choice beautiful - the flower is less realistic in relation to the pot and a little bit too big - the color and the green buds are good worked out - the black background lets your painting shine - the only criteria is the relation between the flower pot and the rose - nice picture

Before I say anything, here's a virtual six star coming your way.I really love the poppy and the gorgeous color you did it in with great
blending and light. The furry pods look so real,I just don't know how you do it.I also love the title you gave this :)Did you get my email?

Thank you, Angel!! Virtual sixes are just as good as the other kind. :) In answer to your question--yes & wow! Will answer it later today and I'll try to remember that you're a couple three hours ahead of me time wise--so hope to catch you before you go to bed. Again, thank you for this. :)shawn

Stunning artwork. Love the vibrant colours, the design, the dark background and especially the vibrant gold on the handles. Thanks for sharing.

Your title sounds like the beginning of a song and immediately the image becomes a happy one.

The large upload is blurred, it's not your fault, it's FAR's...you can write to Tom under 'contact us' and give him an earful!

One cannot NOT like this upload. It has such dynamic visual impact, it's simple and in it's simplicity is strong and has a vibrational quality to it. It reminds me of a great big buxom opera singer bellowing out some unintelligible aria in 3/4 time! (earrings and all) from one of Puccini's forgotten operas.

What a well developed right side of the brain you must have to come up with this, it is quite esthetically most pleasing, what an imagination!

In life we bipeds often think "what if..." and only a few can put that on canvas and create with beauty something as endearing as this opera singer!

Technical excellence has been demonstrated in the balance of the image, that wild and wonderful colour palette, the reflection of the vase, the black background echoing the center off the poppy. The image is solidly well balanced, with considered negative space all around.

What this image does is affect anyone who views it in a positive and joyful manner.....a visual symphony!

You so deserve a 6 but I only have 5.

You changed this? It has a vibrational glow to it now, before it was pure black background wasn't it?

Yes, and I added more to it. I see that FAR's downsizing isn't really doing it justice. It looks great in my art program and when I upload it, and even looks good in "show it" on the upload page, but when I click save, that's when FAR's downsizing hits, and I'm so disappointed. I don't know how the photographers get their photos to look so good. I'm doing something wrong, but can't figure what. :)shawn

Shawn, write to 'contact us' to Tom. He's the creator of FAR site and share with him your frustrations. I'm sure he will help you out with some suggestions, he's pretty good at doing that.

this is very pretty, it is also quite unique, I like that in a work of art :) I love the black background, and how the vase is reflected in the blackness at the bottom, it gives the whole picture a sort of gleam. It is truely likeable, I would hang it on the wall.

Wow, I thank you again, Sunny, and thank you for commenting on both my works. I deeply appreciate it. I tried so many backgrounds with this and nothing seemed to make it pop like the black. :)))shawn

This is definitely my cup of tea! If I had 6 I would give it to you - but I don't. What a very beautiful image. The framing is spot on with a black background that enhances all the components. The flower is just amazing and one of my favourite types. I like the buds with these textures and one starting to open is a good touch. The vase is out of this world and looks like a valuable antique. As a collector of such things, this I find very beautiful indeed. The shape is fantastic and it balances the whole images. The gilded handles are fabulous. I cannot fault this image in any way. Just Perfect. I would love to know how you do this. What is PSP - is that the software?

First, thank you so much for such a beautiful review, Susan! And yes, PSP is Paint Shop Pro. I really should write that out for those who don't know. It's a smaller program by far then Photoshop, but I find it handier--less complicated. Thank you also for the virtual 6, I really appreciate it. You made my day! :)shawn

Brilliant. Love the pink dominating pedals. Perfectly presented, specialized colors in perfect balance. The blue vase is under the main attraction and that was important, and love the gold handles,,,all giving contrasting beauty to look at. Love the mirror image effect, as well as a brilliant black BG. The inside of flower is very dainty and seeking attention also! Great Composition. Presented Excellance!
