Great initial impact what with those piercing eyes. Reflection and depth in them also very good. Love the colour. Feathers and fur, difficult to do. Great job and thanks for sharing.

This is really a nice close up painting of an owl. When I looked at the thumbnail, I was so convinced that this was a photo. It is probably needless to tell you what I like the best about this painting, because I am sure you already know. It is of course the eyes. They are extremely well painted and you have got such a great shine into them. It almost looks like a reflection from a landscape is seen in there. The golden colors are perfect.
Of course also the rest of the face is painted well, and you have created good textures in the feathers. Really good brush work to be seen in this part.
Since this is a macro contest the tight framing is perfect. You have for sure brought life into this owl, and I think this is really well done. I wish you luck with the contest.
