She is so precious and what a pet! Good coloring and composition. I don't know if you asked her to say cheese but if you ask them to say monkey, you get a better smile. It really works. This great.

Thank you so very much! I never ask them to sat cheese I usually tel them to say tater soup! This time it was nothing!

Forced smile or not, this one is a classic! It would be really nice even without the chicken but that odd little twist puts it over the top. Wonderful story telling, keeps the viewer's interest, makes me smile!

Comments: Nice portrait of the little girl and the hen. Yes she has a forced smile. Looks like she has done this before. Nicely composed. Good detail. Good DOF. I am not normally a fan of pictures being so tightly cropped and centered. But this is an exception. Probably should look at all portraits being an exception. You have done well on this one. Thanks for your artist notes that told the story about the picture and had good camera information and camera settings. Thanks for sharing.

You know children and animals are the two hardest things in the world to get a good pose out of. And yet you pulled both in one shot. Bravo. This needs to be framed, the little girl needs to hand this picture down to her grandchildren. It is a great quality picture. Your colors are bright, there is an excellent balance of high tones and low tones, the colors all work together, the focus is clear and crisp. Good detail. All of the important things are all here.
I'm not a fan of random editing. The blackened corners don't work for me. I didn't notice them at first (which I will credit you for) and they are a small adjustment, but if you enlarge this photo it starts to really become evident. It follows her hairline, which is unnatural. I wouldn't have minded it so much had it been an even, curved fade; this looks like the airbrush or eraser tool on photoshop and done by hand.
That's the only flaw that I see. Beautiful little girl, and the rooster appears to be quite the ham. Great portrait. You have a good eye and you captured a great moment on film.
