nice one willie, not as clear as your other ones, but it looks great, your colour balance is ok and your light balance is ok too, just wondering who it will look like if you got rid of the flash light in the middle?

Glad you mentioned it is immature. I can totally see that now that you mention it. We do not have cardinals here so I had nothing to compare it to, other than it looks a little scruffy as it should because it hasn't had its real features for long and it must be forgiven for being a fledgling. It is a good shot. Thanks for educating us.

This is an amazing close up showing every great detail on this young cardinal. What a great initial impact. I love the variance in colors from red to neutrals. The beak is incredible. This might just make an amazing painting.

Ohhhh, willie, how darling is this teenager. The up close is fantastic, and certainly tells the story of a young male cardinal. It is so amazing how they grow and develop and go through the transforming process. A couple of years ago when I was shooting more birds (than food lol) I saw this process for the first time. This photo is utterly spectacular and delightful at the same time! Thanks!

This is such a neat looking bird. He sure looks scruffy looking at this stage. Hard to look at him and imagine what a beautiful bird he will become. I like the way you took this so close up of him and all the detail you see in the feathers. I like the way the black show him off. An excellent and interesting picture.
