Wonderful, if I had a six to give it would be to this one. Everything is working right here. The colours in the background allow the snow to rise above and the figure to be set out from the rest. Your artist's notes give us a great backstory... thanks for sharing

It's the little touches that make your work extraordinary: the shoe going uphill in the snow, the other foot standing on the rope, the realistic gear, the furled flag, the baggy pangs with just the right creased and even a pocket! Of course, there is also the shading that you manage to achieve with ink markers (how do you do it?) and the beautiful colors chosen. I have to keep saying it: you are so good!

    whoooosh...sorry i was letting the air out of my big head you gave me..lol..you have to map things out..other than know what ill do(sometimes i just roll with it)..you sketch out the basic picture then you bring your light colors followed by the darker..its totally reversed from painting or working with pastels. the advantage i have that it is a pen i can keep to detail stuff..a screw, a door hindge, etc. a lotta people dont know exactly how to review me really. when you think of ink you usually would think of comics. i just want to stand out with gallery quality art, not comic, thru ink. then set me apart even more its done with markers. i do get tickled hearing people asking me was i using this highly priced markers...i go no they are bic and sharpie..but i do have a few hundred of em...(lot cheaper price) i am so glad that really enjoy this and do really appreciate you taking your time in giving me this wonderful review.

    clown art....hmmmmm you know thats a thought..get more creativity than those boring...flower,color, and animal contest that they do all the time. let me think on that because that is a daym good suggestion. I can do my attack of the killer clowns(yes it was a real movie too). i am so glad that you have enjoyed this and do appreciate you taking the time in giving me this great review.;

    Well, since I am a professional clown myself, I am always drawn to clown art... that would be a great contents.. don't know if I would enter... maybe.. but art.. not photography... sound fun?

    well in school i was not the class clown...i was the class comedian, do you know the difference? the class clown is the fellow who would put clothes pins on his nipples and streak thru a class hollering like a fool..as a class comedian...im the guy who talked him into doing it...wink

Good subject and glad to have the notes..can never remember when Hillary did the climb.
I really like this..him at the top, in his moment of triump..just great.
The composition is excellent, as are the colors.
He is well drawn, in proportion, and all the details are intresting.
Like the textures throughout, the light shining on one side of him, the different lines of color in the sky..

nice one mkflood. i love your diversity of subject matter and your tribute to human endeavor. there is a great british sas dude, called bear grylls, who was the youngest to climb everest at 23 (just a year after he broke his back). i love your colour work and appreciate your unique style. us brits are the very best haha!
