This is profound and indeed extraordinary, especially for its remarkable characterization. Poverty in the U.S. is alarming at best. In a country in which 80% of wealth is held by less than 2% of the population and more than 40% of Americans are now at or below the published poverty levels is an insidiously disturbing parody. Very well done and thank you for sharing.--Dr. Carlton

well you have sudenly taken the wind out of my sales i feel sad and moved by not only your words but initially by the impact your picture made on me, this is art at its very best , making the viewer think , some just brilliant touches m the womans expression , the childs posture , the road , maybe even especially the road (leading to nowhere ) (unless maybe we could help)
from an art /message point of view this is up there amoungst your very best

its brilliant , got to say im a sucker for people begging and never try and judge them , its almost always , how people are able to cope with what life can throw at them , not neccasrily that that they have more shit than others (tho that too can be true) , some are less able to cope

This is so reminiscent of Dorothea Lang's work during the depression. Her face certainly tells a story.

Well done, both your drawing and your message. It seems that homelessness often equates to hopelessness. My husband and I spent Christmas day serving meals at the shelter and believe me they were not all alcoholics or drug addicts. In fact, I was shocked by the number of families who had no one else to spend the day with and were getting a meal with us. thanks for sharing
