Lovely shot Willie. Really nice colour and it looks pretty sharp. Don't know how far you cropped it but a little more space above your buddy (just a little) would just make this perfect for me. Really nicely done though, don't see many herons round here but it's really great to spot one.

This is a really beautiful picture. Excellent composition with good detail and wonderful colours.The reflection of Autumn colours in the waster are a great bonus. I am glad you weren't tempted to get the whole of the birds reflection. This is going into my favorites to show my friends. Thanks Mitch

This is so lovely. It must be one of your best. The reflection in the water from the bird is awesome. Your focus is pin sharp and it is lovely details to be seen in the bird. The water also looks extremely nice. I like how the head of the bird is so well lit. Which of course means excellent use of light. Good placement of the bird within the frame and a perfect cropping. This is nicely composed with good balance and DOFF. For some reason the system did not let me give you a 5.5, which I intended to do.
