I think herons are fascinatingas wel..have you tried taking him a bucketof minnows..pals for life! LOL Nice sharp shot, with lovely detail. The background color is nice to make him jump off the screen! Donkeyoatey

Another lovely shot of a heron. Focus pin sharp as always and with excellent use of light. I like the brownish colored water as a background. The cropping is perfect and the placement of the bird within the frame is very good. Very nicely composed photo with good balance and DOFF.

This is a great close up of the beautiful Blue Heron. I like the angle you caught him at silhouetted against the dark water. Lighting and focus very good showing great detail in his markings. Very good composition.

Comments: I would never get tired of pictures of this magnificent bird. The Great Blue is probably my most favorite subject to take photos of. They are so regal looking in the way they carry themselves. I am fortunate in the 55 plus community I live in to have at least two Great Blue Residents and many others that drop in from time to time. Over time they get used to you and will allow you to get closer than those in the wild. I really like the fall colors reflection in the background. Thanks for the great artist notes that tell how you captured this moment in time. Great camera information and artist notes. Thanks for sharing. Keep on taking Great Blue Shots.

im not tired of seeing blue herons, they are huge, i remember i used to go out to a cabin, i always heard them but never seen them, just from a distance as they would be flying away so these are beautiful, theres so much detail and the background sets this guy up for some great focus

Never tired of seeing this bird from my standpoint! I have never seen any of these except through the wonderful photography of these on the site. This is an exceptional capture with that gorgeous background color. And the details on the bird are excellent! Exceptional work! (I think some are getting tired of my food photography, but never of this beautiful creature!)

You are very lucky with your considerate Herons. The Grey's I get to see are not nearly so helpfull.As usual the detail and colouring is excellent and I love the hue of the water. There is a bit on the top edge that could be removed. Mitch
