Such wonderful clarity here and I love that pop of colour from the red beak and the little catch light in the eye. A very well presented image that I wish you luck with in the contest.

Excellent portrait. I would love to be able to see a cardinal let alone photograph one as is they are not found in my part of Canada. Love the focus of the beak and seed. Good luck in the contest

Excellent capture! the lighting is so pretty and the detail in the feathers is fantastic. I know these birds are not easy to capture and you did a great job. Thanks for sharing!

She is lovely! The redddish/orange stands out so well, even in her wings. Have to wonder if she is feeding youg or herself.
COntrast, lighting and composition are wonderful. And burning background was a good choice. Very well done.

Fabulous shot of this cardinal partaking in a meal! Great timing. Wonderful detail due to pin sharp focus. Love the vignette effect to really draw attention to this wonderful lady! Great shot!

Wow!
I am not good enough to comment on the technical merits of this photograph but my word! What a fantastic capture! Quite breathtaking in its clarity. The eye of the bird looks as though it is about to blink! Amazing photograph ... wish I had a six star to award you. Good luck in the competition.

An excellent shot of this cardinal. The focus on the beak and her chest feathers is pin sharp, the composition is good and the colours nicely saturated and bright, adding to the initial impact. As my eye moves towards the right, the focus becomes softer and the interest wains. I would have preferred a slight greater depth of field to that her eye and crown had more clarity. A good contest entry which I think should do well, despite my thoughts, because the impact is great.
