Willie, I like the efficiency of the almost blackened back ground, except for the low level high light at the top, by the way I think is great, it gives a little dimension to the image.
I have my eyes move over to the right and I see those hot little buds, well lit and ready to spring.
If anything, the bottom of the flower may be too tightly cropped but that is just me. Have a good weekend you pro!

WOW! the Sharpness showing the beautiful veins in each leaf really show wonderful shadows as well. Vibrant Colors and Composition and Framing really bring this beauty to where it should be.

Beautiful. I love the vibrant colors, the varying tones of reds and oranges and yellows. Great details and textures. Perfect DOF and focus and a nice clean background make this a real beauty!

This is a Day Lily which is different to the Oriental types, although probably same family. They have a proper name but for the moment I forget it. Anyway, each bloom only lasts a day but usually the plants produce dozens and dozens. End of gardening lesson! Beautiful colour in this particular bloom which is greatly enhanced by the plain black background. I like the way you have filled the frame with the flower. Focus is spot on.

Very nice shot of this lovely lilly. Excellent clarity and lighting. Very good depth of field. The only thing that would make me like it more would be a wee bit more space on the bottom between the bottom petal and the edge. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest. Rebecca
