Very nice piece! I love the bright orange and red colors. They contrast very nicely with the green. I also like the texture around the edge. Nice composition.

Knowing your work as well as I do; I must be honest and say, I feel this is not your best piece. On a general front it is OK, but it seems to lack that personal touch, I am used to seeing in your work. You are welcome to disagree. Robin

This is very nicely done. I especially like the textures and colors in the leaves. The splash of purple flowers is very nice.

Your subject is both interesting and appealing.

Digital paintings amaze me. I am awed by them since I have no cotton pickin' clue how they are done! lol

This is just beautiful. Great colors. I like the shape and overal balance.

This is beautiful the way you have done it. The tree is wonderful with all the different colors in it. I like the way you have the light coming from behind. The way you have the deer and flowers is great. Textural qualities are excellent. I also like the way you framed this one. A very creative work of art.

This is an extremely interesting digital painting with plenty of excellent detail. Colour and focus are also excellent. You have captured every important detail and the composition is very good indeed. My one issue is with the dense, black, round frame

oh, my, this is lovely! Such detail and such lovely colors. Light and dark blend well everywhere. I love the one point of lavender in the lower right and the deer sillhouettes are perfect. One question: What program did you use? I'm a new student in a digital photo class and I sure would like to be able to do this type of mixed media. -mia

Mia, I use an older program called Paint Shop Pro 9. They don't sell this one any longer, but Corel sells the newer versions. The instructor of your class will probably recommend you get PhotoShop by Adobe. It's very expensive though. Sometimes the instructors can get cheaper rates for students. This painting is actually a digital painting, which means there are no photos used in it. PhotoShop is a great program for working with photos and painting. I'm saying that only because you say you want to learn to make art from photographs, correct? Thank you so much for the super review, and good luck in your class! :)

thanks for explaining photo programs. You are right that my teacher recommended adope photoshop elements. It came with my computer, so I'm good to go. What program did you use to do that digital painting? I still have no idea how that is done with a mouse. Can you clue me in?

The colors are just gorgeous. A real feel of spring. I love the richness of the tree combined with the simplicity of the deer and her young. A very effective idea these silhouettes. The round shape of the framing seams to multiply the joy of springtime. The fading out border and black surrounding deepen the impact. A beautiful picture. A pleasure to view.
