Aww its so nice to see some of these older posts still being appreciated. I was trying to practice my drawing skills in this one and to be told by someone with your talent that this is good... well I am humbled, thank you!

Very well done Corinna! Great lighting and shadowing to especially around the hair. cute sunglasses and all the girlie stuff that a little girl needs even a necklace! It's cute how her mouth is slightly open with her tongue part way out that required some good drawing skills. Great technique and I think the perspective is fine from the angle that she was drawn. Nice job, cute kid:)

Thanks Michelle, found the mouth really tricky, why did she have to have her tongue half in half out, nightmare to capture! Had fun sketching this though, hope to do a few more of the kids to brush up with the drawing. I thought things like this would bore me to tears but I'm actually quite enjoying the challenge. Just bought a huge canvas to do another big piece, its just staring at me at the moment lol I know once I start its gonna be a good few weeks of hardwork so not started it yet.. need serious motivation for that one

I am not an artist, but this is so cool ~ you're talent is such a wonderful thing here, drawing your own child ~ how cool is that! And she's packed her bags and is ready to go, she has all she needs! What an expression and love those shades!
I see what you mean, about the perspective, but I don't think it is that bad or off. It could be just off in some way a little bit, but your eye sees it bigger than it is (or smaller than it is, LOL)! Great job, Corrina! Bev I am sorry I am slow returning your note ~ thank you so much for it! My oldest's birthday is tomorrow (well today, actually), so I will be back on track, hopefully soon! Thank you! Bev

Thanks so much for the lovely words Bev, I'm glad it didn't look off, I'm my own worst critic. I'm going to do a few sketches of the kids to brush up on the drawing skills, got more than enough photos for inspiration!

This is great work! You're off to a running start! Bev

This is a very nice drawing of a cute little girl. The hair is excellent. The glassed are so cute and drawn nicely.Im not sure about the mouth is she sticking out her tongue?... either way...cute. The clothing is drawn very nicely and the fold and creases excellent. As for the stunted look you can not view the whole person at once but looks fine to me. Overall very nicely drawn. When I finished and hit the save a picture came up of the whole picture and from the perspective you have I think it is fine. (My opinion)

yeah she had her tongue half in and half out, was a bit of a pain to draw and now you cant really tell what shes doing lol I'm glad the perspective worked though, was a little worried about that. Thanks for taking the time to review this

This has a lot of impact in the subject, the composition alone creates it, there are specific points of interest that bring me back to see them, again.
Values are important. Blacks, are best with open shadows, mid-tones with detail, and whites should have detail, though specular whites can give it a spark.
You have powerful elements that attract attention. Most important center of interest is in the areas with most impact.
Comparing your image with a zone scale and color chart, see your image has fair range of zones on my calibrated monitor. But it could not be better.
Note:
Why is it important to have a calibrated monitor?
It is the range of blacks, grays, and whites, that control colors, create impact or drama. A full contrast scale, gives maximum usable contrast for your work of art. Usually this means a lot of impact in the Image. Monitors do not come calibrated, it has to be done by the owner, regularly.

Stunted or not, I really like this sketch of your daughter. It's real! I love all her accessories, especially the large sunglasses. She'll certainly keep me smiling for a while. Sorry I can't critique the actual art work as I'm not qualified, can only say that I like it. Jill
