What a unique and rare capture of these newborns hatching. You must have been in heaven!! Love the intricate make up of the nesting with the materials and how it is affixed to the branch. Great texture, shallow depth of field that isolates and diagonal presentation through the frame. Lovely light.

Thank you so very much! I was very excited and took shots of them every day untill they left! I actually saw them leave the nest!

I know humming birds are small, but this nest is so tiny looking at it here. You'd hardly even notice this in the tree.
Nice shot though with good colours and detail. Well captured.

I like this, very nice! Based on your notes you went to a lot of work to get this photo, but it was worth it. The color is nice, and the focus is good especially for the rough time you had getting the right photo. Thanks for sharing this, it is something not many have ever seen.

Wow Willie that is a rare sight indeed. I sure whish I could see something like that all the nest that I know of are high up in Maple trees. You would have to rent a cherry picker to get that high. Dave

Thank you so very much! I am using a 6 foot ladder. This nest is in a maple tree. Do you know if that is their normal tree to nest in?

This is a great find and all the effort was worth it.The nest must have been very tiny.
I just can't believe that you used f22,as you have not got full depth of field to this unique photograph,perhaps camera shake or ladder shake.

Thanks, I used several settings, f22 may be wrong.
