He look nasty and ugly lol! I would of loved of been there to see you're reaction to that thing lol! How big is it and is it common for them to be there?
Thank God we don't have them here in milwaukee!
I like the clear sharp focus and I am happy that this turtle didn't do anything to you! The color is really good!
Awesome job!

Thank you so very much! He was about 14 inches across the shell. Yes they are very common but usually stay in the water. If he got your finger or toe he would bite it off. A lot of people catch them to eat!

Ewwwwww really? Omg that's nasty! Lol no wonder they snap lol! But really daddy that's nasty lol have you ever eatin one of these?
-
No! I have heard they really are good eating.
-

Five stars from me for this cool photo! I had no idea that turtles snapped at people! Fortunately you got a good shot of him though - my Tennessee box turtle is much more friendly I think.. Great photo I must say - thanks for sharing!

Like the idea on the close up, I like the colors and the angle and the way the colors all work well together in this composition. I am also thinking it is out of focus and I am not sure what the focal point is.

Great macro of the turtle. I appreciate your bravery as well, confronting and snapping turtle. The clarity is good, technique as well.

This was a great idea; getting the animals face, up close and personal but unfortunately, focus is a wee bit slack. The eye on the left isn't too bad although there appears to be some sun glare on the eye itself.

I admire you for your determination in getting this image despite the potential dangers to you! And what an amazing face, so prehistoric, out of this world! The amazing textures and lighting really enhance an already intriguing subject. Beautifully rendered.

Your a brave soul; I grew up on a farm and almost lost my pinky finger!
Never get in front on of them-they have funny looking eyes.
