Your Dad has been a Volunteer Fire Fighter into his 80's. God Bless Him. When I hear of a city laying off Fire fighter or Policemen or women I feel that the city is playing with there residence lives. Lay off the politicians. They never do that. Goverment wants to cut spending on our military. Lay off the politicians. This is a very moving drawing. Thank your Dad.

This is a serious piece that I just love. I was a paramedic with a volunteer group and they put their lives on the line over and over for 1 dollar a day.

This s amazing , the more I look the more i see ,the brickwork (only background ) is amazing the grass amazing too , not to mention the figures , But then you tell us your dad is finally retiring at 84 !! from the volunteer fire service , Now That is AMAZING , What a credit he is to your family , himself and the community

he is bro..he jus informed me recently the city council convinced him to do one more yr..oh yeah im always proud of my dad and really try to be half as good as him..wink.thanks for the great review!

Even when paid, these guys do a great job, and a huge "Thank You" is in order. Great job here, and congrats to your father for his long years of service. I think most of us have instincts that make us want to protect our communities, even to the extent of risking our lives. The problem is that so many of us, these days, feel we don't really belong to any community.

A wonderful post and I really can relate to it - I once had a talk about heroes in Unity Church in Naples Florida, super composition, very accurate scene - who many would not be here anymore without these folks that are volunteers to put their own lives in danger for others - a very nice arrangement , so familiar and protective - the perfect energy is radiating from your post , super color choice, amazing detail work , special work to honor all these people, super job
