Very nice shot.
Good framing and contrast
mid tones a tad soft, but not so much as to harm the image.
Would love to see this in sepia, giving a bit of a historical shot.

I must say Annie that your write up is interesting. Looks just like a teepee that the native Americans used.
I do like your angle of approach. The low view point does emphasize the subject matter.
The colors are not the boldest, but they do seem to be of a natural state. I notice that a lot of photographers do tend to over saturate the green of the trees and you have left them in there natural state; and I like that. The color of the trees if in to the subject matter nicely.
I think the over all exposure of the shot is good it helps with the contrast of the colors. The earth tones set well against the brown of the bark on the trees.
I like the shot Annie. I think the angle of approach is what really makes the shot, it helps to set the mood. Well done Annie!

great image, I love the story but the image itself is wonderfully adventurous and I can easily believe it came from the past

How interesting! Your grandson is a very lucky child to grow up like that; mostly outdoors. He sees the beauty first hand and learns to respect nature. Most children today grow up seeing nature only on TV.
To me it looks nostalgic, indeed like some old pictures of native settlements in the northern US; Canada and Alaska from times gone by. The colors intensify this impression.

Great notes Annie.
The Lavvo is indeed very similar to the north American tipi. I'm from Northern Michigan in the US, and although I did not go to school in one, I've spent many a night camping in tipi.
Love the composition and cropping. I do feel the image is a little flat and could use some color saturation or, maybe bust a bit more weight & contrast.
